Music

Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.  –Ephesians 5:19 (ESV)

Throughout recorded history God’s people have used music to give praise to God and convey the emotions of humanity. The Israelites sang after their deliverance from Egypt. David sang in both good and difficult seasons. The shepherds heard angels sing as they declared the glory of God at Jesus’ birth.  Paul and Silas sang hymns to God while imprisoned. We sing our theology – writing music and words to convey timeless truths contained in Scripture.

At First Presbyterian Church we offer many opportunities to take part in God’s story through music. You’re certainly invited to come to our 8 am or 9 am service and experience our tremendous pipe organ and our incredibly talented Chancel Choir.  Our contemporary service, The Gathering, uses guitars, drums, and keyboards to accompany the vocalists. We also offer special music Sundays and our bell choirs will bless us in worship periodically throughout the year. Please explore our music offerings at First Presbyterian Church. If you are a musician don’t hesitate to contact one of our music directors for more information on how to employ your God-given talents in our music ministries.
